The paper describes new combined heating capability of the IPMech RAS inductively coupled plasma facility VGU-4. A 200 W ytterbium laser was added to as a source radiative heating. cylindrical specimen made Buran orbital vehicle’s heat-shielding tile material with black low catalytic coating exposed subsonic pure nitrogen jet and radiation. surface temperature reached 1325 ∘C during convective maximum heat flux obtained in mode for incident power 47 VGU-4 HF-generator anode 22 kW 32.1 W/cm2. from at same 12.6 Adding an existing gives future opportunity better simulate entry into atmospheres Mars, Venus, outer planets their moons.
